We build simulators for medical education. Heart sounds are synthesised live from a physiological model, and rhythms are generated rather than looped — so a learner can change the physiology and hear and see what happens.

In developmentA 30-lesion parametric heart-sound engine, calibrated against published data. Change the severity, the heart rate, the manoeuvre or the stethoscope and the murmur changes with it, because the sound is computed rather than retrieved.
Approach
Why generate instead of record
A library of recordings can only ever show a learner what one patient sounded like on one day. It cannot answer the question that actually builds clinical judgement: what would this sound like if the stenosis were tighter, or the heart rate faster, or the patient squatting?
Our engines compute the signal from a model of the underlying physiology, so those questions have answers. A learner can move a parameter and hear the consequence immediately. That is the difference between memorising a sound and understanding a mechanism.
Where real clinical data is the better teacher — 12-lead interpretation, for instance — we use openly licensed, clinician-reviewed records rather than synthesising something plausible. The tool should fit the task.
